Behind the Photo - April Showers

So for this creative shoot, I really wanted to do a take on the phrase "April Showers" and I knew that I wanted to play with having colored lights illuminating the water.

I also knew that I wanted to go with a cooler look temperature-wise with this set so we used blue-colored lights but I also wanted to tie it together with the makeup. So we got deeply saturated blues from the makeup and we accented it with a touch of gold above the eyes that really made the whole thing look so glamourous.

Now keeping with that glamour style I also wanted the hair to look elegant as well, so having this swirl of hair going down her cheek just really brought that glamour look together. And this was another thing that we threw in at the last minute because I wasn't really thinking about the hair much since I knew we were going to get it soaking wet.

Huge thanks to our makeup artist Marina, our hairstylist Kayla, our amazing model Azumi and of course my assistant Kim who ended up pouring all of the water on Azumi. You are all so amazingly talented and brought this crazy idea of mine to life.
